My view of it is this: 1) Mario would have been done with this [after the failed assassination attempt] once he realized he had been set up; BUT FOR Aliera's egging him on. 2) She *knew* what her father was doing [and the full implication of his Spell], had psionic contact with her father [at a time when it was uncommon]; and yet did not *warn* him that she and Mario were going ahead with a second assassination attempt. 3) She did not at least *inform* Sethra of the plot [Sethra might have been able to intervene sooner to stop the massive destruction]. Though I can understand why she wouldn't involve Sethra at the time. I understand that it is Aliera's nature to be quick-tempered, impulsive, etc.; however, she precipitated the course of the final events by her interference and lack of communication with the right people.
