I think that what Damien was driving at was that _Verra_ 
resurrected Aliera, when not even Sethra could've done the same.  
Sethra managed to send Aliera's body to the Paths, sure, but a god 
could've done that.  The thrust of this thread was that so far, no 
one's seen a god do anything that Our Heroes couldn't do themselves 
one way or another, and the example given here is that Verra could 
resurrect Aliera, when Our Heroes couldn't do it by their own 
powers.

(Since this is Tuesday, the entire previous paragraph will now be 
proven wrong within thirty seconds, but that can't be helped.  If 
all of you people would just post the _interesting_ threads on 
Wednesdays instead, all life everywhere would be vastly improved.
