A question re: Begining Fantacy for Youth

I have to agree on this one. I found the Unbeliever series to be the
most depressing fantasy books I have ever read, or I should say,
attempted to read. His later stuff the true science fiction series was
much better, although it too was intended for a much more mature
audience.
