Once again, the OT isn't as relevant as some would say, because there is a lot of stuff in the OT that doesn't work in modern times, such as the condoning of slavery, unnecessary killing, ect. The NT, while a part of the OT, and accepts certain parts of it(the Big 10, ect), tends to, in my interpretation of modern Christian thought, supercede it, as well as gloss over huge sections of it. It's more of Christianity's past than of Christianity's present. Thus, it is not as relevant to our discussion as one would think, IMHO. Bringing the OT into a discussion on Christianity is a little like bringing the Spanish Inquisition into a discussion about the Pope. While they have the same religious fervor, they tend to promote different messages.
