At the same time, I've read Lovecraft (love 'em!) and his Notes on Writing Weird Fiction, and aside from some few-and-far-between, I haven't read any writer that comes close. (The one I'm think of who might is Thomas Ligotti, and he's "different"...) But then, that's natural, when one thinks about it.
