Then again, maybe the author's just a hobby gardener and wants his 
characters to drink compost? Perhaps he thinks coffee taste similar to 
compost and it's some form of subtle irony? (I think it taste like pencil 
shavings unless it has cream and sugar, and I drink way too much of the 
stuff.) Or maybe emmm, he wants to compare the taste of black coffee to the 
taste of madras which is made with milk has to have a special filter, and 
that, as I am told by a friend of mine from Dubai, is traditionally served 
with honey? I have no clue, but those are just some thoughts.... *sigh* I 
better get back to studying for finals, and start ignoring e-mails again...
