I interpret "he probably doesn't know how I did that" simply to mean that Vald doesn't think that Morrolan knows *how* Vlad used stealth tricks to get close. If Morrolan is at all intelligent, he does already know that Vlad is stealthy, just not how he does it. As for "maybe he just thinks he was concentrating too hard on Fornia.", I think that looks like a mild knock on Morrolan's observational powers and/or intelligence.
