I've actually challenged people to tell the difference between well-made SVCDs and DVDs, and it comes out around 50-50 :-P But as with all encoded video formats (DivX included), it depends greatly on the person doing the capturing. If you got a copy made from a $20 capture card on a 200mhz PC, it'll suck SVCD *OR* DivX. --------------------------------------------------------------------- |If we shadows have offended, think but this, and all is mended: you | |have but slumbered here while these visions did appear. And this | |weak and idle theme, no more yielding but a dream. Gentles, do not | |reprehend. If you pardon, we will mend. | --------------------------------------------------------------------- >From: David Dyer-Bennet <dd-b at dd-b.net> >To: dragaera at dragaera.info >Subject: Re: Firefly (was 'Re: Smothers Brothers') >Date: 13 Feb 2003 17:48:26 -0600 > >"Gametech" <voltronalpha at hotmail.com> writes: > > > Gomi no Sensei wrote: > > > On Thu, 13 Feb 2003, David Gunderson wrote: > > > > > >> There's a lovely little format out there called 'SVCD' for all you > > >> other people who love to download Tv episodes for whatever reason (I > > >> use it like a VCR) > > > > > > Yeah, see, the thing about that is the VCD video quality is...what's > > > the word I'm groping for here...assy?
