Nothing i've read has been especially disappointing except one book
which i won't mention here but i'm sure many could guess. Authors
who've been recommended to me and i've found unpalatable are Donaldson
(the first Covenant trilogy is terrible: one-dimensional characters
and a completely unsympathetic, uninvolving protagonist) and GRRM
("A Game of Thrones" reads like any daytime soap opera as far as
desperate plot twists, the truly evil people, the truly wretched
people, and the unending inanity of it all).
