Hmm. An observation: A Great Weapon can sometimes act autonomously (Blackwand zaps the Jenoine even though Morrolan is dead). If Sethra left Iceflame in charge of Dzur Mountain's defenses, she might have been able to leave briefly, unarmed, to meet Vlad. For that matter, Iceflame might be able to create the illusion that Sethra was still present even though she's wasn't. Or possibly, as suggested, the illusion was that Kiera was at the bar and drinking brandy.
