I was going to cite the memory issues (which others already have), but I like this better. In a sense, he was being _technically_ honest, while not disclosing full information. He was more like a secret agent, using the his side's army as cover, until he was able to position himself to complete his mission. :). From his, Morrolan's, and Sethra's POV...he wasn't in the army. Nearly everyone else would have said he was in the army. :) Perception or point of view changes many things. :) Brust is spoiling me. I'm coming to expect the characters to have points of view or differing opinions of something that happened in the other fiction I read....:)
