Ok, what you should really do is make a java or whatever app that allows the user to adjust the positions of the various locations relative to each other subject to constraints that can be clicked off; the app should then calculate the chi-squared probability for the chosen arrangement. The probability that Vlad sneezed when he said south-west or whatever should be user-settable, too. But a collection of geographical data and tentative conclusions is already a good start.
