In most works of fiction I've read or seen having characters remain nameless leads to several problems in the course of a series. The only other character who knows him calls Noish-pa "Taltos" instead of by a first name. Though he stayed at Morrolan's castle we're apparently never going to see Morrolan refer to him by name. She may have been exaggerating to tease Vlad at the time. Since one of the legends about her says she turns those who come to Dzur Mountain to stone and there are statues around it... It's possible that Dzur Mountain had its own power before Sethra arrives.
