It's possible she's not dead and just left (though
possibly not for the reason Vlad thinks). Vlad's
father told several different stories about it.
Also, neither Vlad's father or grandfather is ever
referred to by name. In most works of fiction I've
read or seen having characters remain nameless leads
to several problems in the course of a series. The
only other character who knows him calls Noish-pa
"Taltos" instead of by a first name. Though he stayed
at Morrolan's castle we're apparently never going to
see Morrolan refer to him by name. At best we'll get
"Master Taltos" if they ever meet again.

He married Adron's sister some time after she
defeated him in battle. This is why Morrolan was
Dragon Heir when Aliera was unavailable.

   It was _Issola_.

She may have been exaggerating to tease Vlad at the
time. Since one of the legends about her says she
turns those who come to Dzur Mountain to stone and
there are statues around it...
It's possible that Dzur Mountain had its own power
before Sethra arrives. It would turn people who tried
to take the power to stone, but Sethra managed to
communicate and merge with whatever intelligence is
there (Tukko/Chaz?) as she was turned to stone and
start whatever current relationship she has with it.

Ibronka is also the name of Vlad's paternal
grandmother (Noish-pa's deceased wife).
