We never get enough information to know if they are necessary for all Elder Sorcery, but they could be (Kiera has one when she checks for Elder Sorcery in _Orca_). The Orb may contain a lot of necrophia in a certain pattern, or what have you, that can focus and manipulate amorphia much better than a human with a weak mental link to one stone could do. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
