However, for all we know, there could be thousands of the SiG's
acquaintances who are as confused as Vlad.

Is that stated explicitly anywhere?  I'd thought it wasn't.  Vlad
says something like "There's someone who looks like an Athyra in
this story" when he's trying to apologize to Morrolan for
interrupting him (heh), but I don't think we ever find out whether
the SiG was Tierella (sp?).  Even though at the end, Aliera and
the rest of "we" know.
