I meant to point out where this figure (800 to 900 miles) comes from. As
before, I'll save the text references for the documentation to version .2 of
the map.

Deathgate Falls and the North Pinewood Hold are both around 1500 miles north
(and a little east) of Dzur Mountain.

Both are also 1000 miles from the sea.

The "sea" in question is the Shallow Sea, I believe, which is EAST of Dzur
Mountain, and south of DF and NPH.

So, start at Dzur Mountain, go 1500 miles north, then come back 1000 miles
south, (going a bit to the east in your zig zag), and you'll be at the
northernmost point of the Shallow Sea, approximately 500 miles north (and a
little east) of Dzur Mountain.

When Morrolan is heading for his ancestral homeland, he goes south until he
reaches the southernmost part of the Eastern Mountains, then goes west to
cross into Dragaera. At this point, his ancestral homeland (Southmoor), is
south and a little west, so I believe this backs up the above.

When Zerika and crew are headed from DM to DF, they cross the Eastern River
after 10 or 12 days of traveling at 5 leagues (15 miles) per day, and at
that point, the southern tip of the Eastern Mountains are still far away.
Again, I think this backs up the above.

Anyway, that's 500 of the miles, and Vlad says Mount Drift is 300 miles from
the sea (same sea, I believe), so go back 300 miles north and you're at
Mount Drift, or a total of roughly 800 miles from Dzur Mountain.

And Castle Black is about 50 miles south of Dzur Mountain, so we're looking
at roughly 850 miles from CB to MD.
