Jordan is worse than Weber.  At least Weber puts his exposition in
blocks which can be skipped without too much trouble.

Steve has the vast advantage of being able to get prolixity out of his
system by channeling it through Paarfi, for whom prolixity is a
structural principle rather than simply flabbiness (although I shudder
at the idea of Jordan as told in Paarfi's style).
