We put down eye color on our various ID's, but quite a few of us do NOT have eye colors that are accurately brown, blue, green, hazel, or gray. We're someplace in between. In fact, when we see true blue or true green eyes it is unusual enought to be fascinating. When I was a child, my parents invited my 2nd grade teacher to dinner. She arrived before my father did and she noted that my mother's eyes were blue and mine were brown. She then predicted that my father's eyes had to be brown because of what she knew of genetics. He showed up with the blue-est eyes of the family - but very, very obviously looked like my father. Her mistake was that my mother's eyes are sort of blue-ish, and mine are sort of brown-ish. -- Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/
