There are lots of native animals not brought over from Earth.  Whatever
translates as "venison" was probably translated for the purpose of this
recipe for the flavor, but could be used to indicate an animal with
antlers - which may or may not be domesticated.

For all we know, it could have come from a feed lot after being fed beer all
its life.
