I took a few writing classes in college and aside from the fact that I
was forced to produce at least one story a week - the best thing
about it was the critiquing. I learned to take Criticism from people I
admired and people I loathed. I also learned to critique the work,
and not the author.

I think that, if you're going to end up a writer, any classes you take,
any new experience, will help you. I took mostly science classes,
some art classes, and I worked in the school library. All those,
together and individually, shaped who I am and how I write. So, my
advice is - don't limit yourself.

And good luck!
