If it's not too late, I'd like to second the fish recommendations, and also suggest iterations on David's idea. If the salad has a decent amount of chicken in it, make it the main course: if starch is not an issue, I suggest lentil curry served over aromatic rice, or perhaps a potato or pasta dish, as sides.
