Morrolan noticed a difference in the time of day when he teleported
to the town with Ordwynaac's (sp?) statue (and he didn't notice
any difference in, say, gravity).  I'm assuming it is spherical.

I don't think so.  As people are more or less implying, though,
the Orb could tell you "Coordinated Imperial Time" and let citizens
correct for their own longitudes.
