I rented an echo once for two weeks while my truck was being fixed. I absolutely hated the car! The one I got had no power steering, and it had a worse turning radius than my truck because of it, so don't get one without power steering! Also, It had the speedometer and all the other gages in the middle of the car, over where the radio, etc. is. Some people like this; I found it extremely irritating. From what I remember it got fairly good gas mileage, but I usually drive a truck, so my expectations of good gas mileage are different. Also from what i remember, the acceleration was not fabulous, but the manueverability was okay, aside from the lack of power steering. But, bear in mind the one I drove was a rental car, so it could have been particularly crappy. Otherwise, Toyotas are usually really good cars... Everyone I know who drives them NEVER has to get them fixed, they just seem to keep running forever. megan >From: Gaertk at aol.com >To: dragaera at dragaera.info >Subject: Re: Petrol Prices >Date: Mon, 21 Mar 2005 22:11:48 -0500 > >In a message dated Mar/21/2005 4:50:55 PM Eastern Standard Time, "David J. >Weller-Fahy" <dave-lists-dragaera at weller-fahy.com> writes: > > > Which car is that (as someone who, in a few years, will be moving > > back to the US)? > >I'm looking at cars too right now, trying to find something cheap, >reliable, and reasonably fuel-efficient.
