What Vlad did is *far* worse than what Mellar did; it threatens the ability of the Organization to run itself at every level, top to bottom. We get the impression that there isn't much ratting out to the Empire, because sooner or later--usually sooner--the rat always dies. *Always*--that's the key. Let one rat live, and the rat population will take a distinct jump upwards. House Jhereg can't survive as Jhereg in that case. And I doubt they know the complete resources behind Vlad (for starters, I'm certain they don't know about any gods backing him). . . and if they did, they are quite capable of convincing themselves the resources won't act for one reason or another ("the insult wasn't *that* great. . ."). For Vlad to make peace with the Organization, realistically, he has to do it a service equal to the threat he created in the first place; then, probably, dissociate himself from it forever. Either that, or take it over, and as someone said, he probably hasn't got enough of a lifespan to do the job, not to mention allies, gold, etc. The other thing to keep in mind is that the very few people who know Vlad has a GW are in Dzur Mountain. What, you think when Vlad teleported back, the GW went shouting, "I'm a GW! I'm a GW!" That's just not Lady T's style, sorry (-: Even if Vlad whips it out, I doubt all but a very few Dragaerans would recognize it off the bat as a GW as opposed to a very srong Morganti--and those that could, well, they are likely not to be able to pass on that knowledge. The Council may know this in time, but not right away. So Vlad's GW isn't going to put any campaign to relieve his karmic burden on the backburner for a while. The third thing to keep in mind is that probably no one that knows Vlad--outside of Dzur Mountain--is aware he's back in Adrilankha. Same reason as the GW. Snarkhunter
