An interesting theory, but I, like Scott Schultz, always got the "impression ... that Vlad represents the first reincarnation of Dolivar's soul". The quote that Linda G. cites: > Sethra said in Issola: > > "Think back to your own past, Vlad: I know what Aliera > told you about your past lives, so consider her words now." > > Issola, paperback, Chapter 2 "Being a Good Listener", pg 41. > > Note the s in lives. ... isn't convincing in terms of evidence since Sethra the conversation she is referring to contained information about both Aliera's past life as well as Vlad's so the plurality 'your lives' is ambiguous. The 'throughout the millennia' line is simple poetic imagery. It does not require ongoing periodic proofs via incarnate encounters betwixt the souls. Furthermore, it seems to me that multiple reincarnations would dilute the significance of the situation. Casey
