We know from both Vlad and Morollan that a witch doesn't have more than one familiar. Loiosh is Vlad's familiar and Blackwand is Morollan's familiar. Turning back the clock a ways, Paarfi tells us that when Morollan and The Warlock meet for the first time, that they have a discussion of the Art and Morollan asks whether The Warlock has found a soul-mate. The Warlock indicates that he has two, meaning his dog and cat. In response to a question about his own status, Morollan declares that Verra is his soul-mate. Understandably, The Warlock finds this rather presumptuous, though Morollan insists that it's true. Paarfi waffles some. At one point he'll refer to The Warlock's animal companions as soul-mates. Other times, he'll refer to them as familiars, indicating that he's acquainted with the concept. Now, Vlad clarifies that Rocza is NOT a familiar, whereas The Warlock states that both of his companions are soul-mates. Either a soul-mate is not a familiar, Paarfi is confused, or there's more to the topic than we currently know about. I won't even get into the idea of having the Demon Goddess as your familiar. Here again, either Morollan understands soul-mate to be something different from a traditional familiar or else his relationship to Verra has been a rather unique one, to say the least.
