My character was intent on her child being the next Phoenix heir, so she sorcerously "borrowed" genetic material from a number of cross-breeds with the appropriate backgrounds (post-conception) and then arranged for there to be a Phoenix around when the birth happened. I imagine Aliera could help pull off something like that. The hard part was finding the cross-breeds, but if you have the whole house of Jhereg to sort through, you may have a chance. Or you could substitute some God DNA in for the non-Phoenix bits, since that doesn't seem to disqualify one from being heir (at least not in the House of the Dragon).
