Yes, I noticed that about the Grosse Point blank
scene, too.  It's one reason why I like that movie
so
much.
 
I remember watching a scene long ago, from a Mad Max
movie.  A truck runs over the main character's arm,
and you can actually hear the bones snapping.  That
scene squeamed me more than any of the elaborate
fight scenes in, say, Predator.
