Clausewitz is a good read; but it's a historical irony that many of his practical points, while accurate right at the time he wrote them, would become obsolete very shortly afterwards. (World War I changed a lot of the tactical practices of war, if not the fundamental concepts). He's a very good resource for the kind of battles we see in the Vlad books, however, and the fundmental principles of war don't really change very much. Sun Tzu is more timeless, if a bit less practical. Majikjon
