We were actually at WorldCon this year (promoting Strange Horizons). It was SO touching...we had a tea party on Saturday and there were tons of people there, plus they cheered very loudly when we announced we were up for the Hugos. We passed out almost 500 flyers. Then, at the awards on Sunday, when the nominees were read for "Best Webzine", there was polite applause until our name was read. The audience erupted into loud cheers and whistling. After that, we didn't really care that we didn't win. The reaction, and the fame we've gained from being nominated was worth it all, especially for a 2-year-old non-profit zine. Oh, and there were people there from Conjecture all weekend telling everyone who would listen that they had to come down to San Diego to see Steven Brust. *sigh* I SO wish we could go, but after 2 conventions and a trip to Australia, our finances are REALLY tapped for the next year or so. ****** NyteMuse "Call her life unnatural, feel her undead breath.
