DDB is not the only person to come to the conclusion that we would be a whole lot better off without religion, with considerable justification. Of course, a whole lot of wrong has been done in the name of that idea, too. So there is some virtue in considering the question, which I think is eventually answerable - i.e. not in the province of the Incredible Shrinking God - of whether or not people can so exist. The fact that some can, therefore all can, doesn't come close to being an acceptable answer. Richard
