About a week before PotD came out, I commented on a crack I found regarding the passage in Taltos. Brust commented that he hopes PotD adds to the confusions caused by that passage and multiplies the inconsistancies. With that in mind, I think we can conclude that this was almost certainly what he was talking about when he mentioned the intentional discrepencies.
