When we hear about the Demon Goddess's demons, or Brigitta says her father was a --- (she never actually finishes, we're just led to connect her with the story of someone marrying a demon), I don't think we can guarantee what's being talked about. The narrator of that book seems reliably omniscient for events, but not necessarily for global classification. I'd lean to 'demon' myself, because I don't believe elfs and humans crossbreeding until told otherwise -- same genetic stock sure, so what, we're the same genetic stock as a baboon -- but 'reality' could go either way. -xx- Damien X-)
