I thought the movie was amazing: very stylish, great casting. However, I
hadn't read the books at that time.
IIRC people who *had* read the books thought that the movie was an
abomination.

*Sigh* It ran out of money too early in the production, but again, very
stylish. It's been slagged recently, unfairly, IMNSHO.
