Whereas: 1. This is my first post to this list. 2. You can only make a first impression once. 3. The author who is the subject of this list is known to read it. 4. I have a desire to avoid appearing to be one who osculates gluteus. Resolved: I will answer the following question for my first post. > which, if any, of Brust's books have you *not* enjoyed? Having read all of the the Dragaeran books multiple times (except PoTD, which I will be finishing for the first time today) plus TRiH and Cowboy Feng's, there is really only one that I haven't enjoyed - Teckla. It is just too damn depressing for me to enjoy it. This doesn't mean that I don't consider it a well written, necessary book. It it wasn't well written, I wouldn't find it depressing, because I wouldn't care about the characters enough to be genuinely upset when they make each other's lives living hells. I also think that the whole series and particularly Vlad's character would be much poorer without the book. So even though I don't enjoy Teckla, I do like it.
