Since everyone else seems to just be listing here, I'll respectively submit 
a list of some of my favorites too (why not give into peer pressure):

*William Burroughs (Speaking of which, did anyone else feel SM&S felt like a 
cross between the styles used in The Junkie and Ulysses? To the dear author, 
if this was your intention you are a master stylist, if not, well then, to 
me it's very good and reflective of both pieces)
*Lovecraft
*Gothe
*Moliere
*Zelazny
*Eugene O'Neil
*Shakespeare
*Bradburry
*Vonnegut
*Plato
*Mechner
*Fitzgerald (wouldn't really consider him a favorite, but I seem to find 
myself reading Gatsby once a year since highschool, (which means I've read 
it far more times than I should), so he must subconsciously be a favorite)
