Actually, both rope (and ties) and leather can be done so they don't
cut off circulation (and can all be used such that they had);
leather's primary advantage (so I hear) is that it's a lot -faster-
than applying ties that bind.
Which might have certain advantages. Of course, there are also
various leather things that can be locked, which might be useful for
those who likes such things.
