(Interesting that Kelly is too dumb to realize this - he must know about the history of Teckla uprisings at the top of the Cycle.) Seems to me that South Adrilankha (SA in future for spelling reasons) conscribes, Greenaere is crushed, SA is better-trained when Kelly and Co get back from the battle and hence revolts more effectively, hence has to be put down more violently - not what tDG (says she) wants.
