My first post and it had nothing at all to do with the list subject. Hmmm. Dodge City, KS, was an old west town that grew rapidly because of the railroad and buffalo hunting. For a long time there was no local law enforcement and the military had no jurisdiction over the town. Put buffalo hunters, railroad workers, drifters, soldiers, cowboys and itchy trigger fingers together and you get the gun-slinging capitol of the old west. I think it's the place where they got the phrase "died with his boots on." I don't think the life expectancy was too high then. If you wanted to live a long life, you got the hell out of Dodge. That was until Wyatt Earp et al stepped in straightened things out. Sort of. I think it's Marshal Dillon's telling you to leave. "Gunsmoke", an old, old TV Western. -- Mark M.
