Actually, I did a quick turnaround in my 2nd email, as I missed a quote from Paarfi in Lord of Castle Black that makes it seem that the issue of "do the Dragaerans know geometry" moot. But that is an interesting line there. I would think if you're familiar with coordinates, you're familiar with at least some form of geometry.
