Perhaps I'm naive, but while I take a lot of what Paarfi says with a grain of salt, I'm inclined to believe Steve's answers to direct questions (and yes, I'm including "bananas" in this statement). In fact, in the case of Kieron being Devera's father, he volunteered the information. I believe that at the time that he said it, it was true; I also accept that the "facts" may change in the future. In any case, I don't really see there being an occasion that would verify it in the books. I can't imagine Aliera discussing how Devera may have been conceived with anyone that would then be stupid enough to repeat it. While Steve is capable of messing with us (Was Morrolan with Zerika fighting off brigands?), I believe he is doing these things within the guise of Paarfi (and remember the acknowledgments in PotD); I also believe that this won't be resolved in any Paarfi novel, as Paarfi is likely to stick to his "history." I guess I trust Vlad more than I do Paarfi, even though his memory may have been tampered with. Or is flawed. And obviously I trust Steve above both of these.
