This is, of course, a concern, but I *think* that "Brust the translator" has made an effort to convert these multitude of measurements into accurate measurements in our own world. As I mention in the "Introduction to the Map of Dragaera" on my webpage, in the three or four places where the same distance is listed in both miles and leagues, for example, the ratio is 3 statute miles = 1 statute league, which is the same way we measure statute miles vs statute leagues (and nautical miles vs nautical leagues--it gets a bit tricky converting nautical miles to statute leagues or statute miles to nautical leagues).
