Although I'm not sure that I trust his statements about his own skill. Consider that in the first person books he uses witchcraft fairly rarely, for big stuff. While in Athyra there was a lot more of it, IIRC, deployed rather subtly. Lots of mind control magic. I suspect Vlad doesn't tell the funny metal box everything about him, especially not all his capabilities. (OTOH, I don't remember any witchcraft in Orca, from Kiera's view. Of course, Vlad spent most of the time looking at papers, and I don't know that Kiera would know if he had used witchcraft.) > I think Vlad says something that places Cawti doing work in the recent > past. And I (somewhat vaguely) think she's still in Jhereg colors. I thought she stopped after he got the 65,000. Which is the recent past to Teckla. But yeah, she was in Jhereg color. > I think (Cycle or no) he's incredibly wrong about the ability and > willingness of for example StY to kill as many Easterners and Teckla > as need be to crush his movement.
