How do you feel about A chasing P around for an hour?

I was to some extent being snide about Vlad's coffee struggles. But I
think the Vladiad shows V's development as a sorcerer and presents good
reasons why he isn't that good in his early career. And I think his lack
of reliance on sorcery is a continuing plot point (which doesn't prove
he's not a good sorcerer, of course, but he does go to some trouble to
present his witchcraft as being accomplished but his sorcery not.)

To be clearer, I was referring to _Jhereg_, where I think V refers to a
recent bit of work by C. _J_ is a few weeks before _T_. And I think C
had been hanging with Kelly et al. well before _J_. So I think they ought
to accept her vocation.

Good point - but consider _Phoenix_. Z (I assume) sends Khaavren to mop
up, but _he_ refuses. And consider Morrolan's actions at Barrit's Tomb.

Frankly, I think that Z would find herself out on her posterior if she
tried to stop StY from preventing the overthrow of the capital city (which
Kelly thinks he can do - he just doesn't think he can hold the country.)

Or Z could allow the Jhereg to take down the most prominent n*100
rebels.

For that matter I don't really see why the empire couldn't kidnap the
rebel leaders at night and return them in the morning reprogrammed to sow
internal dissension.
