I believe the incident you refer to above and other incidents involving Morrolan's whereabouts are examples of the malicious inconsistencies that stem from having liars as the narrators of the books. Or if not liars, then unreliable narrators. *I choose to see those acknowledgments as encompassing the three books that make up Viscount, but I could be wrong.
