>-If the Serioli Vlad meets knows about Godslayer and Spellbreaker >having a relationship, why do the Jen. give him the other physical >half of it? Or did spellbreaker only require a strong enough Morganti >weapon that's destroyed a soul? Vlad himself asks that question without coming up with an answer. It's probably safe to file it under "Jenoine are inscrutable." It could simply be that they figured it was worth trying, especially if they assumed that he new the true nature of Spellbreaker. In that case, he might very well be motivated to kill a god in order to save his friends. It isn't clear whether the knife is the other half of the original Godslayer or not. Too little information. >-Did Sethra know that the events of Issola could produce Godslayer? >And if so, did she share it with Verra? Sethra probably suspected (hence her comments when Vlad named it) but again there's no strong indications. Verra obviously didn't even know he had it until she asked him to show it to her. You'd think that Sethra might have mentioned it to Verra if she knew for certain. >-And if Verra has known Vlad could obtain Godslayer, why does she >treat him like shit? Seeing as he has something to rival Iceflame and >the Orb, she would want him to like her. I'd say that Verra's relationship to Vlad is such that she can say what's on her mind. In any case, if you're a god you don't start kowtowing to some mortal just because he might be a credible threat to you. It's not like he can sneak into her halls whenever he wants to. >-What exactly are Godslayer's abilities? Pathfinder can find anything. >Blackwand helps Morrolan with sorcery and witchcraft. All we know is >that it has SB's gold phoenix stone properties. The Serioli name for Godslayer translates to "Remover of Aspects of Divinity". That pretty much sums it up. Godslayer's power is that it can make a god completely and permanently dead. (I suppose that technically its power is to turn a god into a mortal. That would last about a half-second before it ate our hypothetical god's now-mortal soul though, so the end-result is the same.) Considering that it effectively "sliced" through the magical defensese of the Jenoine, it probably still contains the essence of Spellbreaker's magic nullification trick only amplified. It's a very specialized weapon. It will have great power as any Great Weapon would, but it mainly should be something that is useful in keeping Vlad from becoming permanently dead as opposed to his becoming a god-like being himself. It would be interesting to know whether Lady Teldra must be unsheathed in order to protect Vlad with it's anti-magic field. In _Sethra Lavode_ Morollan finds that Blackwand does the Stormbringer trick of eating a soul and then passing some of the strength back to himself. That's presumably something that all Great Weapons are capable of. A good question is "Why did the Serioli create Godslayer in the first place?" They didn't like the tyranny of the Jenoine but it seems that they're not fond of the tyranny of the gods either. -Do the Jen. lost their souls if killed by a Great Weapon? Do the Jenoine have souls to start with? *shrug* Too little information. We could probably assume that if it can eat the soul of a god that it can eat the soul of a Jenoine.
