I know that Steven Brust is a huge Roger Zelzany fan and I just figured that's where he got the idea from. Over on the Amber list we once had a discussion about how we thought Sethra was really supposed to be a Lord of Chaos and that Dzur Mountain was that worlds shadow of Kolvir where the Pattern is stored. Heh. For all we know Sethra is tapping into a broken Pattern and using its power to protect Drageria from invasion from the Jenoine.
