The punch line in that book is: Well, it is a piece of fiction, and does answer the question as such. It's not trying to convince the reader that psychic abilities exist and one should believe that. So I wouldn't worry about trying to be convinced of anything. (I suppose I should not have said "period", but instead that it takes place in the '20s and seems to accurately reflect the time period and area. Sorry.:) Speaking of Fort, ever read Fortean Times magazine? That and Skeptic magazine are two of my favorites, and I should really get a subscription one of these days. :) Chris
