If we assume there's more time weirdness going on (not too bold an assumption, given that even the gods can play around with time), it's certainly possible that the Jenoine found a planet with Serioli and Easterners on it, and then later engineered the creation of the Serioli in the first place. I'm not sure why they'd bother, though; with Dragaerans and Easterners they already had an experiment and a control group. We don't seem to have many clues as to what changes they made to the Serioli, or why. -Ben Heaton
