Actually, I think I'd like to try and make it so people wouldn't absolutely 
HAVE to go out and buy books - I'm going to put up pages which will list 
which advantages, disadvantages and skills are applicable and tell people if 
they have any questions on the details of a skill, to post to the message 
board and someone will put up a more complete description.  I've decided to 
start with GURPS because it's got a little more flexibility as far as 
creating new types of things - the magic system, for one, will be easier to 
replicate using GURPS.

The SJG website has some pretty decent free stuff, too.  Here is the web

Of course, you can always buy books if you want - I would go for used 
versions if you can find decent ones.  The only real book you might want to 
have on hand is the Basic One.  You won't need either the Psionics or Magic 
books since Brust's system doesn't fit with any of the rules in them.
