I've decided to start with GURPS because it's got a little more flexibility as far as creating new types of things - the magic system, for one, will be easier to replicate using GURPS. The SJG website has some pretty decent free stuff, too. The only real book you might want to have on hand is the Basic One. You won't need either the Psionics or Magic books since Brust's system doesn't fit with any of the rules in them. Stacy
